I found out that out accounting department took it upon themselves to change the office supply company that we use. I just happened to see the delivery guy and realize that he was not the usual guy that made the office supply deliveries. I asked my secretary who that guy was and she told me that he is from our new discount office supplies company.

When I called all the people from our accounting department up to my office to explain why we had a new discount office supplies company, they informed me that they thought by changing companies we could save a lot of money. They did some more investigating and found a company that offered all of our office supply needs and they were thirty percent cheaper than our previous company.

I could not reprimand them for saving the company that much money so I decided to take them all out to lunch. I know that a savings like that is huge to a company of our size and the savings were going to add up to be huge over a year’s time.

I have since told them that anywhere else that they think we can save money; they have my permission to go ahead and do so.
