Many people will get attracted by the idealistic life lead by the inhabitants on small Greek islands. If you spend your summer in one of those islands you will naturally be highly impressed by the simple yet colorful life in these islands. For example when you decide to spend your summer holidays in the Dodekanisa islands on the Aegean sea; you may come back with an experience to cherish for life.

But the happier side is not all of it. There is a dark side as well. Most of the people who are so happy in summer in the enchanting Greek islands may not find them to their liking in the cold and shivering winter. Just think of North Greece that is separated from other parts of the country by high mountain ranges, have a couple of large rivers flowing in and has a good stretch of Khalkidhiki peninsula. The climate in summer that is so enjoyable is just the reverse in the winter.

That is why even the local people grab the first chance to live the island and to take a ferry to the mainland back to their city lives. Tourists will ordinarily be going back by that time as most of their favorite spots will remain closed till the next season arrives.

Buying property in a country like Greece remains a tricky task and you must be very careful to look at all these aspects before buying a property there.
