My family has some strange rules. It is my mom’s orders that whoever wakes up first gets to do the chores we wanted, and who gets up late ends up with the chore everybody detests. I always ended up lawn mowing while my brother does dishwashing! So here’s my punishment.

Not bad, I thought. I was just totally excited.

After the 2 weeks, I couldn’t wait to see my baby once again. When I entered the room and saw the shiny candy red convertible, my heart skipped a beat. My car was totally awesome! It had the style I wanted, with the flames on the side. This paint shop Tampa made my car from drab to fab! Hands down to this group! Cool work!

My mom used to sell scrap jewelry to make ends meet. Being a single mom is obviously full of hardship and responsibilities. I do my best to help, by looking for part time jobs while studying for college. We manage to get by from time to time, it is hard but we’re not complaining too much. My mom sell old jewelry only as a last resort. She sells it to a particular store that gives better prices for her jewelries. She doesn’t sell them on pawnshops, for the reason that they do not give it a proper appraisal price. She use the money for food, clothing and for my fees at college.

All that I can do for now is excel on my studies and land a proper job after I graduate. It will be my turn to support my mom, she had sacrificed too much already and I’m not going to waste it. I still have to take care of my little sister as well. She’s still five years old and content on following my mom wherever she goes. Everything happens for a reason, I’m just glad that were not experiencing any problems lately. My mom is thinking of selling one of her diamond rings, so that she could open a small business to help our family with our financial needs. I don’t know why, but I’m sure that she’ll be successful with her choice. Call it a kid’s intuition; yeah we have that one too.

The recession has indeed done so much to this country. It did not only affect the country’s economy but most importantly every individual who are a part of this nation. It is supposed to be a country of power, of dreams and of milk and honey. But it is a power that is of no match to all the pulling factors to finance. As I said, many have been affected and that includes me. I have been in my dream job for years. It has been my life and never did I ever imagine that I would be pulled out just because the company needs cost cutting and they have to make a few sacrifices. I did not know that they have to sacrifice even the most resourceful people in the company.

It was a hard blow on me. I had to live on unemployment for a year. Finally, I found a new job. I get to be an operations manager. It sounds very good yeah but not that fabulous when you know it is a warehouse for waveguides. Apart from having to work with men. I also have to learn about rectangular waveguide components which are definitely out of my vocabulary. I was a whole lot of change for me. But, this is surely a lot better than no job at all.

My friend Annie, and me, started out our importing store this year. We have been exporting a lot of materials from overseas that could not be seen here in the states. Many people have become valuable customers and have patronized us ever since. We tried to call their customer support and we were rewarded by a competent operator on the line. We then discussed about the possible solutions to our health problems. With our files accessed and reviewed she offered us suggestions on the things that we should do. Also if in doubt, we could also retrieve our records and show them to a doctor. I’m glad that we tried their services, not only are they convenient they are pretty reliable as well.

I couldn’t take it anymore! I got so sick and tired of how we connect to the internet. We had wires connected everywhere that I got confused already where to place them! My friend had pushed me to just go wireless once and for all. So my friend and I went to the computer hardware section of the mall in search of that perfect wireless connection.

We finally stopped in this store that was selling Used Cisco Hardware. They have all the stuff that I need. I asked first how the things differ from each other and the employee was glad to explain it to us. I was happy on how he explained things so simply. My grandmother’s house was built in 1920s. It was a Victorian-style home with a chimney on it. We spent almost half of our lives watching the fire glowing in the hearth.
